About eSLAPP

eSLAPP was created to rethink the role of the music publishing house. It was founded in 2025 by Bernat Cucarella.

Unlike conventional publishers, which usually also manage the general rights to a work, here the rights to the piece itself always stay 100 % with the composer. eSLAPP's work focuses on the essentials: editing and designing the score, and distributing and promoting it, managing only the rights to the print or digital edition of the score.

eSLAPP doesn't just look at the present, accepting Dorico or MusicXML files among others; it looks to the future too. The publisher is working on a flexible score format, designed to adapt dynamically to reading on screens (tablets, iPads, e-readers), the same way an ebook does. This moves past the rigidity of traditional formats (paper or PDF) and opens the door to new ways of interacting with written music.

The name eSLAPP itself reflects this identity:

e

Its electronic nature, tied to the digital era and to new ways of sharing and experiencing music.

SLAP

An extended performance technique found in contemporary music — a symbol of the publisher's commitment to new creation.

APP

The digital dimension and the forward-looking vision of a dedicated app for scores.

In this way, eSLAPP defines itself as a publisher that thinks about music from both the creation side and the performance side, offering creators a space where their work can be presented with the same quality as always, but in a format ready for tomorrow.
