Neck

Neck

Neck is a notation exclusive to the saxophone, referring to an action involving the part of the instrument of the same name.

In this case, it must be played with the neck removed from the body of the instrument. If "inhale" is indicated, play with the mouthpiece inside the neck, producing a sound similar to a car horn. If "exhale" is indicated, play with the mouthpiece outside and blow so as to make the neck resonate, using a technique similar to that of transverse flutes.
