Tongue ram

Tongue ram

Tongue ram is a sound gesture producing a percussive, explosive sound. On flute, the resulting pitch sounds a major 7th below the fingered note.

It is produced by completely sealing the embouchure hole with the lips and forcefully thrusting the tongue against it. This technique is not exclusive to the flute — it can be applied to any wind instrument by forcing a similar embouchure.

Only for the following instruments:FluteSaxophone
