A reworking of the poem "La gente corre tanto" by Gloria Fuertes.
el «ir llegando»(2025)
Bernat Cucarella(2001)
New classical music-Fl., Cl., Vln., Vc and Pno.

This piece investigates how speed, crowds, the present moment, over-stimulation, the lines on a map, or an athletics track can be rendered in sounds that intersect with one another. In this quintet, a discourse unfolds where fragmented polyphony coexists with contemporary harmonic treatment, while placing strong weight on the spectral and gestural side of the piece. el «ir llegando», which lasts 10’, offers a contemporary take where the pointillist approach, rhythmic variety and timbral modulation are inspired by Gloria Fuertes's poem La gente corre tanto, a poem that reflects on the sense of hurry in modern life and, in this case, arrives at a state of peace and calm represented by a mantra-like melody that can already be heard from the very start of the piece. La gente corre tanto porque no sabe dónde va, el que sabe dónde va, va despacio, para paladear el «ir llegando» Although there is a clear poetic inspiration, the organic discourse has been shaped with the performer and the listener in mind, hoping they can enjoy the piece through careful work on micro-phrasing, phrasing and spatialization, among other things.
Winning piece of the 7th "Juan José Olives" Young Composers Competition, organized by Ensemble Enigma.
