Perihelio(2022)

Perihelio (the term for the point in a planet's orbit closest to the Sun) seeks to get as close as possible to the world of the guitar, taking fourths tuning as its foundation — understood here as the very essence of the instrument. The title is also reflected in how the piece treats the perception of time, since it unfolds over a fluctuating pulse that, like a pendulum, speeds up and slows down in the same way a planet moves faster through some stretches of its orbit than others.

This piece is part of the album ÓRBITAS, to which it gave its conceptual origin. It premiered on 08.03.23 at the 8M Concert – Musikene, San Sebastián.
