New classical music-Percussion octet (Cajón, Handclaps, Guitar)
This piece emerged during a lockdown period with no access to percussion instruments, through the exploration of a new instrument: the piano bench. With its different heights and sounds, the bench inspired the composer to create this piece based on the flamenco palo known as soleá. Through different variations and other flamenco elements, the piece evolves from a minimal gesture into small written improvisations that can be performed in a theatrical tone.
It was reworked in 2024 for the RiberAlz festival, specifically for the ensemble Pan-ku Grup de percussió. This version replaces the benches with cajones. Two palmeros (hand-clap performers) and a guitar were added later.
