ASssMRrrrst(2025)

A static sensation. Brain massage. Attention-induced euphoria. Tingling in the head. An auditory, mentally induced orgasm. A tingling on the skin that usually starts at the scalp and runs down the back of the neck and the upper spine. Tactile-auditory synesthesia. May overlap with chills.

Although it grows out of something very small — both in the idiomatic writing for the instrument and in the generative gesture behind the project — this piece for toy piano and tape moves back and forth between the performative and the traditional, the performer and the audience, electronics and acoustics, exploring the relationship between music and ASMR.

This piece premiered on 06.02.25 at the "[CON]TEMPO – International Festival of Contemporary Music and Sound Art", performed by Víctor Trescolí.
