La ecuación del calor(2024)
Bernat Cucarella(2001)
New classical music-Sextet (Electric guitar, Saxophone, Viola, Double bass, Piano and Percussion)

This piece explores the sonorities of a sextet in a discourse where fragmented polyphony coexists with contemporary harmonic treatment, placing strong weight on the spectral and gestural side of the piece. "La ecuación del calor" (The Heat Equation) offers a contemporary take where the pointillist approach, rhythmic variety and timbral modulation are inspired by the equation of the same name. This equation describes the distribution of heat (or temperature variation) across a region over the course of time. It also contributed to the discovery of the Fourier series, essential to the harmonic analysis of sound.
Although there is a scientific inspiration behind it, the organic discourse has been shaped with the performer and the listener in mind, hoping both can enjoy it after careful work on micro-phrasing, phrasing and spatialization, among other things.
